While hiking through Kolob Canyon in early spring, I captured the top side of the canyon wall with a light dusting of snow still remaining from the previous winter. I was in awe of scale of the rock face and the complexity of every different surface. Some areas jagged and unforgiving, some covered in late winter’s snow, but everywhere the red rock shown through. It was so amazing and alien to me that it might as well have been Mars. This photo brings me right back to that hike and I can almost smell the air and feel the texture of the rocks when I look at it.
